CSV import feature

We sure it is, because we have great news: now there is no more need to fill JoomSport data manually you can finally upload Players, Teams and even Matches to your JoomSport WordPress sport plugin using CSV import feature. Functionality available for Pro version holders and allows you to upload all required data for Players, Teams and Matches including extra fields. Import is very flexible as it allows you to use almost any file structure - you can choose yourself what fields you import.

Even more - it is all included into our Pro version without any additional charge!

Team Roster

The second great implementation is a new advanced view for Team roster. It includes ability to display players' photos in a professional way with their Number and other additional information. Also you can group players by any selected extra field, for example position or role.

Player list, Matchday shortcodes and Match Generator improvement

New Player list shortcode extends the facilities to display information on the required part of your website for selected team. Two views are available - Photos and Players Stats. Shortcodes Matchday delivers ability to display matches from selected matchday including Knockout trees anywhere across your site.

Moreover we have one more good news: Schedule generating is now possible with new algorithm - Berger system. It is officially used by UEFA and some other sport associations so it is easy now to create game schedule for most of the international leagues. Please read more details about Berger algorithm here.

If you work in the software development area for more than 10 years product releases often become a routine. Investing into customer base growth

We have revised the initial package of features for standard and professional editions and added a number of basic abilities to free standard edition. Things like Extra fields, Venue page, basic Box score statistic, basic Player events views, matches search, Team Squad, Clubs, Game Stages are in Standard edition now. User experience and fast learning curve

Our first version of JoomSport was released in 2009 and since that time our product has become mature. We have realized that it is extremely important how customers use JoomSport and whether it's easy to learn how to use it. For the last two years we've been putting a lot of attention to these points and - again - 2.0 release brings a lot of improvements into user experience. Structured menu, changed interfaces, improved front pages look and feel, renamed options and messages - all these things were added to 2.0 release. Ability to manage Single and Team competitions simultaneously has become very simple. Moreover, now it is easy to start using JoomSport for the first time - the installation file on WordPress site contains basic demo data.

Redesigned statistics

One of the core things of our product is player and sport match statistics. In the new release we have greatly changed this area. Player statistics is now divided into blocks and it looks completely different.

In response to our customers' request we have changed the look of player events section on the match page. The change is applicable to player events with added minutes. Pro version users can enjoy greatly improved blocks' style and have more options compared to free standard edition. Another big feature is the ability to add box score records with many different options (divided into player roles, countable and based on other stat records, simplex or composite).

We hope such improvement will help with managing data in sports like basketball, volleyball, American football and many others.

Scheduler generator

We have developed new functionality allowing our Pro version customers to generate a scheduler for their season leagues within a couple of clicks. Please read more about how it works in a separate blog post.

Improved mobile views

Previously it was a part of our user experience section but since the changes are really significant we've put it into a separate blog post section. Standings layout has become really adaptive to the screen size and displays shortened column names in accordance with screen resolution. Calendar layout has become more flexible with the new ability to add extra fields columns. We have also delivered a number of bug fixes improving the look of pages on mobile devices.

Connected to feedback platform

After releasing our feedback portal a couple of months ago we have added a small green widget into all settings sections menus. This should help our customers with submitting new ideas and suggestions for our products. You are always very welcome to add you suggestions!

The BearDev development team pleased to deliver the new core product feature in 1.3.x release.

In version 1.3 long awaited Moderation functionality has been developed*. It will be useful and actual as for local leagues as for E-sport competitions. It's first implementation of FE management features so at this stage it includes basic functionality only. Don't hesitate to contact us and share your wishes and suggestions on adding more options into Moderating permissions section. 

Now if the corresponding option is enabled WordPress user can create Team or Player and manage it's information without full admin access. Moreover as soon as Moderator creates Team or Player he can assign it to the Season (if Season registration is opened) and create or edit it's matches. The functionality is handy and quite flexible as moderator rights can be limited in settings section, site admin is allowed to enable or disable the following permissions:

• create teams/players/matches
• edit matches
• specify quantity of players/teams that can be created by one user.

Other implemented features:

• Season registration by date*
• Match date added on matchday quick creation page
• Season Groups feature moved to Standard edition

Many of famous Championships and competitions are in full play so our new version of JoomSport – WordPress Sports Plugin will be very handy at these days.

We are pleased to deliver several comprehensive core product features in 1.2.x releases:

Ability to create hierarchical seasons. For several stages competitions you can use new functionality allowing creation of Season containers that includes several child Seasons inside – so stats will be collected for all child seasons and can be displayed on one page on FE.

Ability to use match results inside the groups from previous season (pro version). And even more there are few variants how achievements from previous season will be used in current ranking. It will be quite suitable for managing championships with several stages. So when the first stage is completed for example the best 4 participants continue compete with each other but only based on their head to head results from previous stage. Check all possible options in the documentation. 

Complex matches in Knockout (pro version). Effective feature for creating series of matches between the same participants in Knockout (Single elimination) type of competition. Let’s consider quite famous example NBA, major professional basketball league in North America, where currently the Conference Finals are played in a best-of-7 series.  Team has to get 4 wins with the same opponent before it will get to the next round.

Besides such significant improvements new version include bug fixes:

• Bug with disconnected Away team when changing match status on match page
• Optimized CSS for matches shortcode and matches widget
• Number of bug hot fixes in 1.2.2 and 1.2.3 releases

After we stopped supporting the free edition of JoomSport for Joomla we constantly receive question weather we have the plans to build a free version of our product with basic features. As far as CMS market is moved from Joomla to WordPress blogging platform we decided to create such free JoomSport product for the most popular CMS, WordPress.

So recently standard version of JoomSport WordPress sport plugin became available on WordPress directory. It's absolutely free solution to build your sports web site easily. Std edition includes basic set of features such as:
