Level Up: A Look at Statorium API’s Latest Features

The world of sports data never stands still, and neither do we. Over the past six months, the Statorium API has been supercharged with a host of powerful new features designed to give developers and sports platforms the edge they need.

Get the Rivalry Data with the Head-to-Head (H2H) data

We’ve add Head-to-Head (H2H) information inside get by match ID endpoint. This allows you to easily retrieve historical data between two teams, including past matches, results.

Go Multilingual: Translated Player and League Names

  • Translated Player and Team Names: The API now supports and can deliver translated player and team names. This is especially powerful for our integration with JoomSport for WordPress, allowing site owners to present the names in their audience’s native language.
  • Translated League Names: Similarly, you can now access translated league names.

A Visual Upgrade: League Logos & WEBP Images

We’ve made significant improvements on this front:

  • League Logos: The Get League by ID endpoint now includes league logos, making it easier than ever to display official branding.
  • Faster Loading with WEBP: All images, including player photos and team logos, have been converted from PNG to the modern WEBP format. This means smaller file sizes, faster loading times for your applications, and a smoother experience for your users.

Deeper Team Insights: Coaches and Foundation Years

Dig deeper into team history and structure with new data added.

  • Team Coaches: For selected leagues, the team API endpoint now includes information about the team’s head coach.
  • Team Foundation Year: How old is the club? The foundation year for teams in selected leagues is now available via API team endpoint.

Advanced Statistics: Top Players and Team Averages

For the stat-hungry fans, we’ve unlocked new levels of analytical data.

  • Filter Top Players by Team: Our “top players” endpoint just got more flexible. With the new filter, you can now retrieve the top-performing players (by goals, assists, etc.) for a single selected team. The right data filter offered for the club level applications.
  • New Team Stats Endpoint: Introduce a new dimension to your season overviews. Our new Team Stats endpoint provides the ability to show team averages (e.g., average goals per match) or sums (e.g., total goals in a season) on a season level.

Tournament-Specific Match Data: Aggregated Score

Following complex tournament structures just got easier. For World Cup-style leagues with two-legged ties or group stages, you can now access the aggregated score for matches directly via the JSON API. This provides immediate clarity on the overall outcome of a fixture series.

What This Means For You

These updates are all about empowering you to build richer, faster, and more engaging sports applications. Please be welcome to send us your API use feedback so we can include your requirements to our next API development iteration.

Happy coding!
