Post Order of team names
on 01/03/2010 19:23

I've got a slight problem with my football league. If you click on the link below it will take you to a screenshot of my league table.

http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/lh/photo/Qa7iegVmljlq7NgfBQN00Q?feat=directlink

As you can see from the image the two teams have identical records, now in a normal football league if this happens to be the case then the team whose letter appears first in the alphabet should be above the team whose letter comes later on in the alphabet.

In this example the letter "L" comes before the letter "M" in the alphabet so therefore Leicester City should be in position 1 and Manchester United in position 2 in the league table, currently this isn't the case, is there a way to rectify this problem.

I hope you are able to follow what I'm trying to say and thank you in anticipation of a reply.

Post Re: Group League Positions
on 06/19/2009 15:09

I want to create a Champions League style tournament except Ive only got 8 teams and so will have 2 groups of 4 teams. However, when I try to do this it doesn't work.

I created a new tournament and season and enabled groups. I also added the teams participating in the season. As you can see:

http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/K_RAIuHy5-NUFcDSqpx68w?feat=directlink

I then created my groups calling Group 1 "Pool 1" and selecting the season and clicked on APPLY and then selected the teams to go into "Pool 1" and clicked on APPLY and SAVE. As you can see in below link:

http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/umdHjDb55zzZmmBN-dLcUw?feat=directlink

and did the same for group 2 as you can see:

http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/Sd8oaOFqRiSJd_jdFI_vnA?feat=directlink

However, on the front end they all stay in one group as oppose to the two groups that I wanted. As you can see:

http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/WYdHSttEB_AY6wQ6EoEg2A?feat=directlink

I should add that at present I'm working on localhost, I don't know if this effects it or not as I haven't bought a webhosting space yet.

So how do I go about trying to correct this?

Post Penalty Shootout
on 06/17/2009 23:45

In knockout competitons such as the Champions League sometimes games go to penalty shootouts, perhaps an option can be added wherby as well as entering the score in normal time the penalty shooutout score can alse be entered.

For example, in the normal 90 minutes the score was 0 - 0 and then the match went to OT, and it was still 0 - 0, and then the match went to a penalty shootout and the home team won 5 - 4. So then you can enter this in the back end and it displays the penalty shootout score in the front end, so its clear which team actually won the match to proceed to the next round or if it was a final which team actually won the final.

I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

Post Group League Positions
on 06/17/2009 23:35

Hi,

I want to start by saying this is a great extension and want to thank the team behind it.

I've a slight problem I was hoping to get some help with. If you click on the link below it will direct you to a print screen of my league table.

http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/lh/photo/ohZbsmDIonZjFpTV58C57g?feat=directlink

As you can in the red highlighted rectangle Manchester United and Leicester City both have the same "points" and same "goal difference".

However, the way most football leagues around the world work is that the team who has scored more goals is placed higher. As you can see Leicester City have scored 6 goals and Manchester United have scored 4 goals so therefore Leicester City should be 2nd place and Manchester United in 3rd place.

At present it goes by the team who has conceded the fewest goals and that happens to be Manchester United and so they are placed 2nd which is incorrect.

How do I correct this little problem?

One other thing I wanted to metion is that there is an option "OT" I take it, this stands for overtime. Where I'm from I don't think anyone would understand that. Over here we call that extra time and the acronym for it is "ET" is there anyway this can be changed so everyone where i'm from could understand it.
